Earth Day 2020

“Creation is the primary and most perfect revelation of the Divine.” –Thomas Aquinas

We had big plans for celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day this year. We were looking forward to welcoming you into our sanctuary at Willow Avenue to experience a series of Earth Day prayer and meditation stations with plants to serve as guides. In lieu of that, we offer this slide show of images and prompts for prayer, reflection, and action.

To go at your own pace, use the arrows at the bottom of the bottom of the player rather than the play button. May this digital experience inspire you to see the ways in which all of creation can lead us into deeper relationship with God and ignite our sense of responsibility to care for each other and the earth so that all may flourish.

To read more about connecting the dots between Christian spirituality and stewardship of the earth, we recommend the series “Nature as the First Bible” from the Center for Action and Contemplation: https://cac.org/nature-first-bible-weekly-summary-2015-01-24/
